Just an Artist in her 30s
My 30s has felt like a lot of life has started settling. I’m comfortable in my work, in my skin, in my home. In my 20s, I felt like I struggled to find a place and stability for my life. My twenties was a constant grind through school and through finding a job and then through struggling to stay afloat. To be honest, most of my 20s was characterized by pursuing my dream job.
Once I got my dream job, I took it as a chance to finally relax. After years of what felt like running, I could finally enjoy all that the hard work had gotten me.
So now I’m in my 30s and the goal is to take a step further. I want to be more intentional about the kind of personal work I do. I want to shoot for new loftier goals and I want to create long lasting habits that will elevate my life.
I’m aiming for a beautiful creative fulfilling life!
Entering your 30s often represents a significant phase of personal and professional stabilization, especially for creatives like artists striving to nurture their craft while balancing life’s demands. Many artists experience their 20s as a time of exploration and relentless pursuit of their dream jobs, but the 30s bring a unique opportunity to reflect, regroup, and chart a purposeful path forward. Curating a creative life in your 30s means intentionally setting loftier goals that align with your core values and passions. This decade invites a shift from merely surviving or chasing external success to cultivating inner fulfillment and sustainable growth. Developing long-lasting habits becomes paramount: regular creative practice, mindful self-care, continuous learning, and building supportive communities can transform an artist's daily routine and output. Moreover, comfort in one's work and environment allows for deeper experimentation and authenticity. As the article emphasizes, feeling at ease in your skin and your space fuels creative confidence and resilience. Artists in this life stage often embrace mindfulness and intentionality—tools that help focus energy on high-impact projects and meaningful connections. Combining this with clear goal-setting can lead to extraordinary breakthroughs both personally and artistically. For those navigating similar transitions, consider exploring resources on habit formation tailored to creatives, time management strategies for sustained productivity, and ways to find inspiration from everyday life. Engaging with communities of like-minded individuals can also provide motivation and accountability. Ultimately, the 30s are an opportunity to curate not just art, but a beautiful, creative, fulfilling life as the foundation for decades to come.
