Pain from HPV vaccine

I received shot #1 of 3 of the Gardasil vaccine ~10 days ago, and have never experienced such pain with a vax before.

Even when the needle was given, it was super painful to the point that I said “ouch” out loud and felt dizzy after. I’ve never had this with any other vaccine, and I have a decently high pain tolerance so this was super unusual to me.

Since getting the vaccine, I’ve been experiencing significant arm pain, and have limited range of motion now. Oddly, It actually felt like it was getting better in the days after getting it, but in the last 1-2 days it’s been feeling more sore again, to the point that I can only sleep on my back because sleeping on the side it was given obviously hurts and sleeping on my opposite side feels like I am straining it because of the weight to hold it up.

Has anyone else experienced this/have any helpful suggestions? Thanks in advance!

... Read moreThe HPV vaccine, especially Gardasil, has been a topic of discussion regarding its side effects. Many individuals report experiencing various reactions, including localized pain, swelling, and limited range of motion post-vaccination. While pain tolerance varies from person to person, it's common to have a range of experiences after receiving the vaccine. In rare occasions, severe arm pain that persists beyond a couple of days may occur, potentially indicating that the injection was not given correctly or that an individual is experiencing a heightened sensitivity. It’s crucial for anyone experiencing prolonged pain after vaccination to consult with a healthcare professional for evaluation and guidance. Moreover, sharing experiences can help others who might be concerned about potential side effects. Joining forums or support groups dedicated to vaccine discussions can also provide insight and reassurance for individuals navigating such experiences. Understanding the potential side effects while recognizing the importance of vaccination against HPV can empower individuals to make informed decisions regarding their health.
