Best diet for acne?

Really want to try healing my acne from the inside out. I’ve got a great skincare routine, but it seems like my acne is hormonal. Came on as an adult & got especially worse this past year. It is SO off & on. Right when I think it’s over, it’ll randomly come back so badly without any changes to my routine. (I use Vanicream face wash & moisturizer- I try to keep things gentle for my sensitive skin. I’ve used all sorts of acne-fighting products like differin & azelaic acid- don’t feel like they’ve done much)

Recommendations for diet? Foods to eliminate? Supplements to take? Anything you recommend for gut?

... Read moreAcne is a common condition that affects many adults, particularly women experiencing hormonal changes. Research suggests that diet plays a significant role in skin health. Foods high in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon, and antioxidants, like fruits and vegetables, can help reduce inflammation. On the other hand, dairy products and high-glycemic foods, such as white bread and sugary snacks, may exacerbate acne. In addition to adjusting your diet, consider incorporating probiotics to promote gut health, as imbalances in gut bacteria have been linked to skin issues. Fermented foods like yogurt, kimchi, and sauerkraut can be beneficial. Supplements like zinc and omega-3 fish oil can also support skin health. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and limit alcohol, as it can lead to dehydration and inflammation. Adopting a balanced diet and maintaining a healthy gut can significantly improve your skin's clarity over time.

Carbohydrates create growth in our bodies and this could be a cause of your acne. Your body already naturally creates carbs so you don’t need to worry about not eating enough of them. Make sure you have a balanced plate with half the plate protein since it can be used for so much good in your body. (☝️🤓)
