Trusting the Journey, Even When It Changes🤍
My baby is having a baby.
And if I’m honest, my emotions have been all over the place.
At first, I was scared. He’s young. He’s just finishing the police academy. He doesn’t have a full-time job yet, and his girlfriend is still in college. I always hoped my children could avoid unnecessary struggle. I talked often about dreams first… stability first… a little cushion before starting a family.
I think I’m grieving the loss of the young adulthood I imagined for him — the places I thought he’d go, the timeline I had in my head.
But this isn’t about my vision.
It’s about his life.
I love my son endlessly, and I already love this baby more than words can explain. I will support them in every way I can. I will worry, because that’s what moms do. And I will stand beside him, because that’s what love looks like when plans change.
Life doesn’t always unfold how we imagine — but sometimes it unfolds exactly how it’s meant to.
