From hitting rock bottom to building a safety net. 🪜✨
If you are looking for a perfect story, you won't find it here. But if you are looking for the absolute, unmasked truth about hitting rock bottom and choosing to build a ladder out of the hole, welcome. My name is Crystal. For a long time, I hid my struggles because of shame. I survived severe childhood trauma, decades of deep domestic abuse, and toxic environments that broke my health down until I hid to eat and believed my physical pain was just 'in my head.' I worked myself to the bone—sometimes working two jobs at once while raising my babies the best I could practically by myself. I've done it all: running construction companies, managing busy retail departments, and climbing the ranks to general manager at Pizza Hut. I love people, and customer service has always been my superpower because I genuinely care. But when my health completely failed, the system failed me too. I lost my job because I was too sick to open the doors, and just like that, my son Christian and I found ourselves homeless, living out of a vehicle while I dealt with renal failure, severe hidradenitis suppurativa, and a massive ovarian cyst. Amidst the chaos, my grandmother—who raised me (when I ran away from abuse to her when I was 16) because my mom died when I was 11—passed away, and the weight of generational trauma fractured my relationship with my daughter. I even have a public record from surviving those toxic years, because when you are fighting for your life in a corner, things get messy.Today, life is shifting. My son Christian is working, living with his partner Jazze, and climbing his own ladder out of the rubble. I am currently staying in a safe environment focusing entirely on my recovery from major surgeries. While I am not working, I am finishing up my online store to generate my own independent income. Our overall goal remains $8,000. To be completely transparent, I am taking this mission seriously and everything will be professionally tracked and documented, just like the businesses I used to run. I will use small, exact amounts only for my absolute immediate necessities during recovery—like the $33 fee for my Texas ID and basic medical supplies—while I apply for food stamps and work to launch my online store. To bypass platform processing fees, I am also keeping my CashApp and PayPal options active in my Linktree https://linktr.ee/UnicornDre4mer . Rest assured, every single donation received through those alternative platforms will be fully documented and applied to this exact same lifeline fund. Once donations start rolling in, I plan to open a completely separate, dedicated bank account solely for the Unicorn Rising Lifeline to maintain absolute accounting integrity. Every other dollar raised here is dedicated strictly to funding our new mission.Going through all of this has taught me to look for the universe's lessons and blessings even more than I ever did before. My community reminded me of who I am: a bright, resilient, AuDHD soul who loves fiercely. We are turning this page completely. This fundraiser is now Momma Crystal’s Unicorn Rising Lifeline: The Safety Net Project.I refuse to let our struggle be for nothing. Not everyone has an 'Amanda' or a 'Christian' in their corner. We are using The Buddy System to take the main support raised here and put direct, immediate help straight into the hands of other homeless individuals, struggling families, and their pets who just need a tiny hand up before they get lost in the dark. We will fund hot meals, gas money, emergency shelter, and basic survival necessities.I am healing out loud on my livestreams, doing my daily chores, and recovering from surgery to prove that rock bottom is just a foundation to build on. Let’s stop hiding, start healing, and pull each other up!

Sharing a personal journey of recovery and resilience truly sheds light on the importance of community support and transparent fundraising efforts. I've witnessed firsthand how hitting rock bottom can feel like the end of the road, but stories like this remind me it's often just the beginning of rebuilding a stronger foundation. When faced with health crises and homelessness, many people feel invisible or hopeless, but creating a safety net—like the Unicorn Rising Lifeline—demonstrates the power of mutual aid to provide immediate, practical help such as food, shelter, and medical supplies. Moreover, documenting every donation and using trusted platforms like CashApp and PayPal builds trust, encouraging more people to contribute knowing funds are managed responsibly. It’s inspiring to see the commitment to accountability, with separate bank accounts dedicated solely to the cause. This kind of financial transparency is crucial for community-driven projects, especially when aiming to uplift homeless individuals, struggling families, and even their pets. I've also learned the value of embracing vulnerability publicly, as shown through livestreaming recovery and daily life. This openness not only fosters connection but also helps dismantle stigma around trauma and health struggles. The use of hashtags like #HealingOutLoud and #TheBuddySystem highlights how shared stories create a ripple effect, encouraging others to seek help or offer support. From my experience, building an online store to create independent income is a smart step in regaining stability post-recovery. It shows resilience and a proactive approach to sustainability. Overall, witnessing how small amounts—like a $33 fee for an ID—add up to real change underlines the importance of community funds dedicated to immediate necessities. This story is a testament that no matter how messy life gets, with courage, support, and transparent systems, it’s possible to climb out of any hole and start anew.
