Bots are literally everywhere

Okay, let's be real – sometimes it feels like bots are literally everywhere in Fortnite! As someone who spends a good chunk of time in the game, I've definitely had my fair share of encounters, and I've developed a pretty good radar for telling who's a real player and who's a cleverly disguised AI. It’s not always easy, but there are some tell-tale signs. First off, why are there so many bots? Epic Games uses them to help new players get into the game, fill up lobbies, and ensure a smoother experience, especially in less populated regions or game modes. But for seasoned players, it can feel a bit… well, fake! That's where knowing how to distinguish them comes in handy. I mean, who wants to celebrate a victory royale only to realize you mostly eliminated AI? My personal checklist for identifying bots usually starts with their movement. Bots often have very predictable, almost jerky movement patterns. They might run in straight lines for too long, stop abruptly in the open, or engage in really basic, repetitive building – sometimes they won't build at all, even under fire! I've seen them just stand there as I'm shooting, almost like they're lagging, but nope, DEF A BOT! Another huge giveaway is their looting and interaction. Bots tend to loot slowly, sometimes leaving valuable items behind, or they'll just sprint past chests without opening them. They rarely use emotes or respond in a 'human' way to situations. Their aim can be super inconsistent – either perfectly tracking you through walls (which is rare but happens!) or wildly missing every shot from point-blank range. It's not foolproof, but when you see a name like 'SaltyPickle678' acting strangely, it adds to the suspicion. So, what about the 'fake bots' that aren't actually AI? Sometimes you encounter players who are either genuinely new, AFK, or perhaps just having an off game. These can be harder to distinguish, but generally, a human player, no matter how bad, will eventually show some complex decision-making or unpredictable behavior that an AI won't. They might try to reposition cleverly, or surprise you with a tactical build, even if it's poorly executed. AI mostly sticks to their programmed routines. Ultimately, whether you're dealing with a true AI bot or just a player acting like one, recognizing them can change your approach to the game. I use them for practice, especially when trying out new weapons or strategies. It's a great way to warm up before those intense endgame circles. There have been times I've been ELIMINATED TermiteMuscles and thought, 'Darn, I got outplayed!' only to watch the replay and realize, 'Oh, it was just a bot.' It's all part of the Fortnite experience, and knowing how to spot them just adds another layer to the fun!
