If you’re planning a trip to Lisbon, here’s a look at what we did while visiting.
Lisbon is one of those cities that blends history, great food, and beautiful viewpoints, and it’s also very walkable and easy to explore.
Some of our favorite highlights included wandering the historic streets below São Jorge Castle, exploring the creative shops and restaurants at LX Factory, and spending time in the Belém district visiting Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, and the Monument to the Discoveries.
We also took a day trip to Sintra and Cabo da Roca, which ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the trip.
A few other Lisbon experiences you shouldn’t miss:
• trying pastel de nata (I had minimum 4 a day, they are sssoooo good).
• tasting traditional ginjinha cherry liqueur
• spotting the giant recycled trash murals by Bordalo II
• wandering through historic squares like Praça do Comércio
How to get around Lisbon:
Lisbon is very walkable, but bring comfy shoes and expect hills. You can also take tuk tuks, rent scooters, and Ubers are very affordable here.
How long to stay:
I’d recommend 4-5 days in Lisbon, which gives you time to explore the city plus take a day trip to Sintra.
Save this post if Lisbon is on your travel list.
