The possibilities are truly endless when you start thinking small. When working on these smaller projects, I always recommend paying attention to your yarn weight and hook size. Using a slightly smaller hook than recommended for your yarn can create a denser fabric, which is often desirable for items like bags or coasters that need to hold their shape.
