Would it matter if I skipped this one?

I’m only 7% in and I’m already annoyed and over it, not even with Khari surprisingly. What was the point in Conture leaving him 🙄 neither one of them happy like please with this 😂

I don’t feel like going through it with them so will I miss something if I DNF and move on to the 3rd book? 👀😭

... Read moreAs a reader who has dipped into the Crenshaw Kings series, I completely understand the frustration of hitting a low point early in a book and questioning whether to continue. From my experience, every installment in a series like Shvonne Latrice’s Crenshaw Kings holds layers that build on character development and overarching plotlines. Although the second book might feel frustrating—like when Conture leaves Khari and neither seems truly happy—it’s often these tensions that set the stage for more meaningful twists later on. Skipping a book can feel tempting when the pacing drags or emotional beats don’t resonate, but I’ve found that sticking it out, even when annoyed, usually rewards with richer context for future books. The third book in the series may dive deeper into unresolved issues introduced earlier, so missing the middle installment might leave you puzzled about character motivations or plot shifts. If you’re worried about losing momentum, consider skimming chapters that feel slow while focusing on key scenes. This way, you’re not fully skipping but managing your reading experience more comfortably. Also, engaging with hashtags like #crenshawkings and #crenshawkingsseries on social platforms can provide community insights and help keep you connected to the story world. Remember, reading should be enjoyable. If a book doesn't grab you, it's okay to pause or move on, but with series like this, a little patience often brings payoff. Ultimately, whether you choose to DNF or push through, your personal enjoyment matters most. Sharing these feelings with fellow readers can also enhance your experience and perhaps even reveal perspectives that make the story more engaging.
