life is so weird man. At 21, you couldn't tell me anything. I was traveling almost all year, hitting California twice, visiting the Grand Canyon, exploring the East Coast for the first time, weekend trips with mom to Florida and Louisiana, and going to both Disney World AND Disneyland. Not to mention all the concerts with friends, partying with my twin, and joining a sorority — hahah! 2016 was a wild year, but one I’ll never forget.
If I keep going, I might get all sappy, but over the last few years, I've realized how small we can feel in this world. Just be yourself in a sea full of others who want to be exactly like everyone else. Create your own space and live in each moment. Snap pictures all the time, record everything, and cherish those close to you a little more.

Traveling frequently that year, I developed a strong appreciation for exploration—not just of new places, but of myself and my limits. Whether it was my weekend trips with mom to Florida and Louisiana or hitting the road with friends for concerts and parties, every moment taught me something about spontaneity and joy.
One thing I realized is how important it is to capture those memories. Snapping endless photos and recording snippets of life not only preserved those times but also helped me reflect during tougher moments. When feeling small in a vast world, having those tangible pieces of happiness empowers confidence and motivates authenticity.
I also learned that creating your own space—mentally and physically—is vital. Surrounding yourself with people who inspire and support you, like my sorority sisters, makes a huge difference. It encourages you to embrace your uniqueness rather than blend into a sea of sameness.
Now at 31, I can finally harness the energy and self-assurance I felt at 21, transformed by years of growth and hindsight. If you’re reading this and feel lost or pressured to conform, my advice is simple: cherish your journey, take risks, and stay true to yourself. Life’s wild ride will shape you in unexpected ways that you’ll cherish forever.
