Walking through exhibits that detail the roles of the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 6th Airborne Divisions, as well as the devastating losses on beaches like Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword, adds a tangible reality to what can seem like abstract history. The courage it took to undertake such a dangerous mission continues to inspire. From a personal perspective, learning about the specific challenges faced during the invasion—the extensive air sorties, the loss of aircraft, and the naval coordination—has helped me understand how meticulously planned and risky the operation truly was. It also reminds me how every individual’s effort contributed to a greater cause.
