Barely surviving!
That’s about all we’ve been doing! Enough that we’re still alive but that’s it. —#futureplanning #wifeandmama #planteverything
Balancing the roles of a wife, mother, and planner can often feel overwhelming, and I’ve found that ‘barely surviving’ is something many of us resonate with at times. The truth is, surviving doesn’t just mean getting through the day; it often means finding those small pockets of time to breathe and regroup amidst all the chaos. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of future planning. It’s not always easy to think ahead when the present feels so demanding, but carving out some time for goals and organization can actually reduce stress in the long run. For example, meal planning around a plant-based lifestyle (#planteverything) has helped me save time and feel more in control of what my family eats, contributing to a healthier home environment. Being a mama means there are no breaks, and combining that with the role of a supportive wife means my energy often feels stretched thin. However, sharing these experiences with others facing similar challenges makes the journey less isolating. I’ve found that connecting with communities — be it through hashtags like #wifeandmama or #futureplanning — provides encouragement and motivation. Incorporating plants into our lifestyle not only supports physical health but also brings a sense of accomplishment and peace. Whether it’s planting a small garden or simply choosing plant-based meals, these actions have served as grounding routines. Reflecting on April 10, 2022, the date highlighted in the photo reminder, I recognize that survival is often about enduring the small moments and pushing through the tough days. If you’re in the same place — just getting by but not thriving — know that these phases are temporary. Prioritize what matters most, plan when you can, and give yourself grace. Survival is the first step to thriving.
