my apps to track my reading

2025/2/13 Edited to

... Read moreI used to just read books and hope I’d remember what they were about or when I read them. My 'To Be Read' (TBR) pile was a physical monster, and my reading goals? Non-existent! But then, I discovered the magic of reading tracker apps, and let me tell you, it's completely transformed my reading journey. Now, I don't just read; I experience my reading, track my progress, and discover so many new favorites! One of the biggest game-changers for me has been finding the perfect TBR bookshelf app. I personally use a combination of a dedicated 'TBR - Bookshelf' app and Goodreads. For my physical books, the 'TBR - Bookshelf' app helps me keep a digital log of all the books I own and want to read. I can easily rate books after I finish them and even keep a yearly log to see my reading stats. It’s like having a tidy, organized version of my overflowing physical shelves right on my phone! Goodreads, on the other hand, is fantastic for its community aspect and discovering what my friends are reading. It’s also brilliant for tracking progress on a book, showing you how many pages or what percentage you’ve completed. This really helps when I’m diving into a long novel. And speaking of tracking progress, if you’re into personal growth ebooks or just want to feel good about hitting literary milestones, you have to try Finch. It’s more than just a tracker; it's a self-care app that incorporates reading goals! I love setting little challenges for myself, like 'completing 25, 50, 75, and 100 pages' of my current read. It turns reading into a fun, rewarding habit. Seeing those little goals checked off gives me such a boost! For my digital reads, ebook apps like Kindle are indispensable. I’ve built quite a collection there, and it’s so satisfying to see all my book covers in one place, just like a virtual bookshelf. The best part? My reading progress syncs across devices, so I can pick up right where I left off whether I’m on my phone or tablet. It’s seamless! But what about library books? Enter Libby! This app is a lifesaver for borrowing ebooks and audiobooks directly from my local library. It functions almost like a digital bookshelf for my borrowed titles. I can sample books before fully committing and keep track of all my library loans. It’s amazing how much I’ve saved (and read!) thanks to Libby. Lastly, I can't forget about discovering new reads! While not strictly a 'tracker,' the Barnes & Noble app often helps me find my next obsession. I love browsing their new releases, checking out book club picks like 'This Is a Love Story,' and taking advantage of offers like '50% Off Hundreds of Hardcover Books.' It’s a great way to stay on top of the literary world and add new titles to my ever-growing TBR list. Choosing the best app depends on your needs. Do you want to manage a huge TBR, track specific page goals, or mostly borrow from the library? My advice is to try a few and see what fits your reading style. These apps aren’t just tools; they're companions that make reading even more enjoyable and fulfilling. Happy reading!
