apps that help me keep my life in order! ✅

this is just a little collection of the apps on my phone that i regularly use and wholeheartedly recommend to others! some of them have actually come as recommendations from other users on this app, so i wanted to share these to everyone here because they help me so much!!

apps featured and what they’re for:

DISCOGS: an app for cataloguing your vinyl or cd collection and creating a wantlist of ones you want to add to it!

i use this to keep track of what vinyls i have and what i want! it’s especially helpful when i’m in a record store and don’t have time to carefully look through each stack, because i can just pull up my wantlist and look for the items on it! you can also buy records on here from other users and keep track of your own collection and how much value it has!

LOCKER: an app that works as a digital wishlist, allowing you to save products from any online web store to collections that you create and curate.

i’ve been using this app to save everything i want on amazon, colourpop, musician’s merch sites, and more! i’ve made super niche collections for things like earrings, bedroom decor, electronic devices, and more and they help me so much! this is also useful for getting yourself a little treat as you can see what products are available to you on all the online shopping platforms in one place!

STORYGRAPH: keeps track of books you’re reading, have read, and want to read.

i switched over from goodreads because i hate how non-user-friendly goodreads is and i wanted some new reading recommendations! making the switch was easy because i was able to import all of my goodreads data, and i’m so glad i did! i love the statistics on here because you can see what you like to read. it also has you fill out a detailed survey, which allows it to give you better recommendations! there’s also a content warning filter where you can flag triggering topics that you don’t want to read about, which has been very useful for me as someone who avoids books on SA and EDs specifically due to my history with both. this has been a lifesaver and also allows me to prepare for what i’m about to read :)

LAST.FM: keeps track of all the music you listen to, sorting it into stats each month and showing you recommendations based on what you like.

i downloaded this and created an account in 2020 and it has been tracking my listening ever since! the one downside is that it only tracks after you create your account, so even though i’ve had spotify since 2016, i only have stats for 2020 and beyond. other than that, it’s been great! and i love looking at what i listened to in specific periods of my life by sorting the stats by dates. i also love seeing how i compare to years prior and what new artists i’ve discovered since.

COUNTDOWN: an app that creates countdowns to upcoming events.

this one is pretty self-explanatory, but i really wanted an app that could create widgets for the countdowns so that i could have them on my lockscreen, and this was well worth the $3 i paid for the premium version to unlock unlimited countdowns and widgets. i’m a concert photographer and have adhd, so it’s great to show me what shows i have coming up and when. it’s also nice to see the countdown of how long my partner and i have been together, which is on my lockscreen :)

... Read moreKeeping track of everything across your daily life and hobbies can feel overwhelming, right? That’s where smart apps come in handy! They’re not just gadgets; they’re like digital assistants helping you declutter your mind, manage your time, and even deepen your enjoyment of your passions. For me, it's about shifting that mental load from constantly having to 'remember this!' to confidently saying 'let the app handle it!' It’s truly a game-changer for reducing everyday stress. Just like I found my personal must-have apps, you can build your own perfect "life-in-order" toolkit too! Start by thinking about your biggest pain points. Are you often forgetting upcoming events, like concerts or birthdays? A dedicated countdown app, similar to the one I use, can be incredibly helpful. Do you struggle to keep your various collections organized, whether it's vinyl, CDs, or even digital items? An app like Discogs can catalog everything for you. Or perhaps you're an avid reader looking for a better way to track your reading journey and discover new books—StoryGraph is fantastic for that! Look for apps that solve your specific problems, and don't be afraid to try a few before settling on your perfect match. User-friendliness is key; if an app is too complicated or clunky, you simply won't use it consistently. Hovering great apps is one thing, but actually using them consistently is another. I've found success by making them an integral part of my daily flow. For instance, I might check my Last.fm stats while commuting, or update my Locker wishlist during a quick coffee break. Another fantastic tip is to utilize widgets. Setting up widgets for apps, similar to what you can do with a countdown app or even general customization tools like Widgetsmith, can keep important information front and center on your phone screen. This makes it easier to stay on top of things without even having to open the app, integrating organization seamlessly into your day. While I've shared my top picks for specific hobbies and organization, there’s a whole world of apps out there to enhance your life in countless ways. If you're a movie buff, apps like Letterboxd are fantastic for tracking films you've watched and want to see. For writers or avid readers, platforms like Wattpad offer communities and tons of user-generated content. Even broader social platforms like Reddit can be incredibly useful for finding niche communities and getting advice on literally anything, from specific productivity hacks to hobby-related discussions! The key is to find apps that genuinely add value, whether it's for productivity, learning, entertainment, or simply connecting with others. Ultimately, the best "life in order" system is one that you can stick to effortlessly. Don't feel pressured to download every single app you hear about. Start with one or two that address your most pressing needs, get comfortable with them, and then gradually explore others as new needs arise. It’s all about creating a personalized digital ecosystem that supports your lifestyle and passions, making day-to-day management feel less like a chore and more like a streamlined, enjoyable process. Happy app exploring – hope you find your own life-changing favorites!
