🌼 Just a good day with my girls :)

A huge part of my mom guilt comes from not taking the girls out as much as I’d like to. Which is just my mind playing tricks because we leave more than half the days of the week often just out of necessities. But I hate everyone being cooped up in the house. The day goes by so slowly. But not only does everything cost money, it’s so overwhelming sometimes to pack everyone up and transport them around, anticipating a meltdown, having to make a bottle, potential blowout.

Yesterday I felt so at ease when I brought the girls to the only decent indoor mall left in the area (but also an hour away). I barely shopped, I just wanted to walk around in a different environment with them. I timed meals and car naps perfectly. Nobody screamed. It was so nice feeling like a little unit instead of feeling alone with a challenge.

Not seen here: there’s a little arcade that my two year old enjoyed despite obviously being terrible at all of it. And the baby loved the lights and sounds!

Reminder to myself and to anyone who needs it: try not to overthink. Just pack up and go. This day could’ve been spent doing the same thing we do so often but instead we saw new things, she tried new foods, and we truly had so much fun doing something so simple.

... Read moreMany parents experience guilt about balancing home life and outings with their children. It's essential to recognize the importance of breaking the routine and engaging in new experiences together with your little ones. Simple outings, like visiting a mall or park, can boost family morale. Consider planning a visit to a local arcade or snack area, allowing children to discover new tastes and sounds while exploring. Bonding activities not only combat the feelings of overwhelm but also enrich children's social skills and adaptability. Snacking is an essential part of family trips. Whether enjoying a tasty Cinnabon or checking out unique food options, introducing your kids to new flavors can be an adventure in itself. Parents might wonder about the best venues for such outings. Look for family-friendly places with activities for all ages, and remember to be flexible – spontaneous fun often leads to the best memories. Ultimately, when parents acknowledge the joy of these small outings, it can transform both their perspectives and their children's experiences.
