Traveling with kids, especially when crossing time zones and airports, can be incredibly challenging yet rewarding. From personal experience, I’ve learned that preparation is key: packing smart, bringing snacks, and planning activities to keep kids engaged can make a big difference. One of the biggest lessons is to allow for some buffer time after vacation before jumping back into the work routine—because as the saying goes, 'the first day back from vacation' can be the toughest. I remember the struggle vividly—driving to work feeling drained, realizing I had finished all my coffee already, and trying to find my rhythm again. Managing a family of three kids while balancing a working mom life means moments like these are part of the journey. Despite the exhaustion, these trips create lasting memories and bonding moments with your family. If possible, don't hesitate to take an extra day off after returning from vacation; it can help everyone recharge and transition smoothly. These small adjustments have helped me survive and even enjoy traveling across the country with my kids.
