... Read moreBlue stains on laundry are a surprisingly common issue that can be frustrating, especially when they appear on treasured white items like fuzzy blankets. The blue staining often comes from color runoffs, detergent residues, or issues within the washing machine itself. One frequent culprit is a blue-colored detergent or fabric softener that isnโ€™t fully dissolving during the wash cycle. Sometimes, powdered detergents can leave blue streaks if not properly rinsed out, especially in cooler water settings. Also, if you use color catchers or dye-attracting sheets, ensure they are used correctly and not expired, as they may sometimes release dye themselves. Another cause could be laundry loads mixed with dark or new blue-colored clothes that bleed dye. Blues, like denim or dark garments, tend to release dye in the wash, which can settle on lighter fabrics, leaving blue marks. To prevent this, separate whites and colors meticulously and wash new colored items separately until they are colorfast. Sometimes, the washing machineโ€™s drum or detergent dispenser may have buildup or residues from previous cycles containing dye, which can transfer to your clothes. Running a cleaning cycle with washing machine cleaner or a hot water cycle with vinegar or baking soda can help remove such residues. If you notice blue stains appearing repeatedly despite these precautions, it may help to switch to a liquid detergent and avoid fabric softeners that can sometimes cause buildup. Additionally, check that youโ€™re not overloading your washing machine, as crowded loads can prevent proper rinsing and cause residue deposits. To attempt removing blue stains, pre-treat the affected areas with a stain remover or soak them in a mixture of water and oxygen-based bleach (safe for whites) before rewashing. Avoid chlorine bleach on delicate fabrics, as it may worsen damage. I do side work after my regular job. sometimes it's your fabric softener or you also may have mold in your washer sometimes even residue from jeans also may cause these issues. buy some machine washing liquid and clean your washing machine out with anything in it this should be done atleast 1 time a month just to keep your washer clean also you could have copper pipes that might be corroded

Do you use those scent beads in your washer? A lot of clothing can end up getting stained by them. I stopped using them due to stains like this.
