vitacoco frosted lemonade is the drink of summer!🍋
I had put off trying these coconut milk drinks for sooo long, but I figured I would get a few since the frosted lemonade flavor came out!
The frosted lemonade flavor is really good and was my favorite! It does have some acidity from the lemon which makes it a tiny bit bitter, but the creaminess really helps! 🍦🍋
The orange and creme flavor was also bitter, but the creaminess was not enough to save this one. It had a weird aftertaste and I just couldn’t drink anymore of it 🍊🍦
The review kind of went wrong here because my strawberries and creme flavor was spoiled ): I was most excited about this flavor so that sucks, but based off of that I wouldn’t buy it again. 🍓🍦
... Read moreAfter my initial dive into Vita Coco Treats, I found myself really intrigued by the Frosted Lemonade. It’s not just a drink; it's an experience. The way the tartness of lemon blends with the smooth, tropical hint of coconut milk creates something truly unique. It’s like a sunny day in a carton! For those who love a classic frosted lemonade but want a dairy-free twist, this is absolutely it. The 'creamy and delicious' texture mentioned in my original thoughts really makes it stand out from typical lemonades.
The original review touched upon the 'weird aftertaste' and 'too acidic' nature of the Orange & Creme flavor, and it really got me thinking about 'weird milk flavors' in general. Why do some fruit and cream combinations work so well, like strawberries and cream, while others, particularly those with higher acidity like orange, can fall flat or even become unpleasant? It seems to be a delicate balance. High acidity can cause milk to curdle or create an off-putting flavor profile. Coconut milk, being plant-based, often fares better with acidity than dairy milk, but even it has its limits. The Frosted Lemonade clearly mastered this balance, where the lemon's tartness is perfectly mellowed by the coconut creaminess, avoiding any 'too acidic' pitfalls. But with orange, it seems the natural oils and acidity clash more aggressively, leading to that 'weird aftertaste' I couldn't get past.
When I think about refreshing, creamy drinks, my mind often goes to nostalgic treats like a 'Sonic cream and vanilla' shake, or just a classic vanilla float. Vita Coco Frosted Lemonade offers a similar comfort but in a lighter, more tropical format, making it a fantastic 'cool time coconut milk drink' option. It’s not as heavy as a traditional milkshake, which is perfect for hot weather. This versatility makes it a great base for mocktails, too – imagine blending it with some fresh mint or a splash of sparkling water for an extra zing! It’s truly a standout in the 'frosted lemonade coconut milk' category, offering that creamy texture without the heaviness.
My experience with the 'spoiled, dark substance' in the Strawberries & Creme carton was a real bummer, and it reminded me how important it is to always check your products. While it was likely a one-off issue, it’s a good practice to always inspect the packaging for any damage, and if it’s a perishable item, check the best-by date and any signs of spoilage like unusual colors, smells, or bulging packaging. Trust your senses! If something seems off, it probably is. It's a shame because I was so excited for that flavor, but it's a good lesson learned. Overall, Vita Coco has some great 'coconutmilk beverage' options, and while not every flavor is a hit, the Frosted Lemonade is definitely worth adding to your summer rotation. It’s a game-changer for anyone looking for a refreshing, non-dairy treat that truly delivers on taste and creamy texture.
I haven't tried the lemonade one but I have tried the other two. They are incredibly sweet! I drank them to help my milk supply when I was breastfeeding but it was only once in a blue moon.
