Sacramento State Grad Photo Locations

2025/1/10 Edited to

... Read moreWhen I was planning my Sacramento State graduation photos, I was determined to find locations that truly felt special and reflected my time there. While the main campus signs and the science complex are great, I really wanted to uncover some hidden gems, or at least, some spots that offered a unique vibe. This led me to spend a bit more time exploring, and one location that truly stood out for me was Eureka Hall. Initially, I thought of Eureka Hall as just another academic building, but once I started looking at it through a photographer's lens, its potential became clear. The concrete stairs of Eureka Hall, for example, offer an incredibly versatile setup. I saw photos of other graduates sitting thoughtfully on these steps, their caps and gowns contrasting beautifully with the modern architecture. It’s perfect for those contemplative shots, where you’re looking forward to the future but also reflecting on all your hard work. I even tried a few poses sitting there, proudly displaying my 'Class of 2024' stole – it felt so personal and authentic. What makes Eureka Hall great for Sac State grad photos is not just its aesthetics but also its accessibility. It’s centrally located enough that you can easily move to other spots afterward. For instance, after getting some fantastic shots at Eureka Hall, I took a short walk towards the Library Quad. The variety of backdrops you can achieve within a small radius is impressive. Think about the natural light that hits the building in the late afternoon – it creates a warm, golden glow that is absolutely magical for photos. Beyond the stairs, the building's facade itself provides a clean, academic backdrop without being too busy. If you’re looking for a spot that feels uniquely 'Sac State' but perhaps a little less crowded than the main entrance signs, Eureka Hall is a fantastic choice. Don't be afraid to experiment with different angles and times of day. Morning light can offer a crisp, fresh feel, while the golden hour before sunset can add a dreamy quality to your photos. I highly recommend scouting it out beforehand if you can – you might discover your own favorite corner!
