I’m doing a school project based on the murders at Starved Rock, so it was only necessary to go check out where they took place!🥾 *In 1960, three women were found dead and half-naked in a cave in St. Louis Canyon at Starved Rock, and an employee of the nearby lodge pled guilty for the murders.*

Oglesby The almost two hour drive to Matthiessen from Chicago is definitely worth it. It’s a short drive from Starved Rock if you want to make a day of it. If you decide to visit in the winter, places be careful and wear the correct protective gear ( wool sock, spikes, flashlight just in case

Twin falls is about a mile and a half, out and back, easy trail. There is so much wildlife and so much to see on this short hike. I love the minute you open your door to start the trail you can hear the waterfalls. The hike is very well marked and easy to stay on the path. One of the best parts
