On cold days I like to over dress as you see
When the temperatures drop, I always find that layering is my best defense against the cold. It's not just about wearing a thick coat; it’s about building up warmth through multiple layers that trap heat effectively. I usually start with a snug base layer made of moisture-wicking fabric to keep sweat away from my skin. Next, I add an insulating layer like a fleece or wool sweater that retains body heat without adding too much bulk. Finally, I top it off with a windproof and waterproof outer jacket for protection against the elements. Overdressing might feel cumbersome at first, but it actually lets you adjust easily throughout the day. If you go indoors and get too warm, you can remove a layer. Plus, wearing hats, scarves, and gloves significantly improves comfort, as you lose a lot of heat through your head and extremities. I’ve found this method very effective during winter hikes and everyday commutes. In my experience, investing in quality fabrics can make a huge difference. Natural fibers like wool and down are excellent, but even synthetic materials designed for cold weather do the job. Layering also means you don’t have to buy a heavy coat for every occasion; instead, you combine what you already have to suit different weather conditions. Overall, overdressing through layering is an easy and practical way to ensure you stay warm and cozy whenever the cold hits.
