Working Because I Want To!

Over time I realised the real goal was never about stopping work. It was about building a life where I no longer feel stuck or limited by it.

When you have options, work feels very different. It becomes something you choose to do, not something you feel forced to hold on to.

Have you ever thought about what it would feel like to work from choice instead of pressure?

... Read moreIn my journey towards understanding work as a choice rather than an obligation, I realized that true freedom comes from creating opportunities rather than merely escaping a job. When you start framing work as an option, your perspective shifts dramatically. It’s not about finding a way out of work but about crafting a career and lifestyle that align with your values and aspirations. One practical way to embrace this mindset is by exploring flexible work arrangements or side projects aligned with your passions. For example, many working parents find that setting up a plan B—like freelance work or a home-based business—gives them the freedom to balance family life while maintaining financial stability. This approach opens up new possibilities and reduces the pressure to stay in roles that no longer fit. Having the freedom to choose also involves reassessing what success means for you personally. It may mean a less conventional career path or prioritizing well-being over income. When work becomes a choice, it’s easier to find joy and motivation because you are in control, rather than driven by external demands. From personal experience, embracing hashtags like #PlanBWithPurpose and #FreedomToChoose isn’t just social media talk; it represents a real shift in how many of us approach careers and life. When you adopt this perspective, every decision about work becomes a step toward greater fulfillment and autonomy. So, have you considered how it feels to work from choice instead of pressure? It’s about building a life where your career serves you, not the other way around. The journey may require effort and adjustments, but the reward is a more empowered and satisfying professional life.

Another fulfilling class session 👩🏻‍🏫🎬 We kicked things off with a fun ice-breaking activity, and as each learner introduced themselves… something struck me again. Many of them — 65 and above — are still working. Not because they’re bored or want to pass time… but because they have to. Hones

Flexibility matters you don't want to miss
Some people spend their weekends shopping. Some spend them catching up on sleep. As for me? You'll probably find me pushing a wheelchair through a park, taking funny photos, playing silly games, and laughing with my son. Life didn't turn out exactly the way I imagined. But it has

Working Hard Cannot Be The Only Plan
NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THIS 👇🏼 You wake up. Go to work. Clear the emails. Attend the meetings. Handle the pressure. Come home tired. Eat something quickly. Scroll a little. Then get ready to do it all over again. And somehow, we call this “stable”. I don’t hate my job. But I also know

I got a job in HR because of my design skills?

Working harder isn’t the problem.
A lot of us are doing everything “right” — working long hours, chasing promotions, trying to stay ahead of rising costs. But effort alone doesn’t always translate to freedom. That’s why I started exploring digital income on the side. Not to escape work, but to create options and breathing spa
