4 Mile Run✨💕

4 Mile Run 🏃‍♀️

It was 85 degrees, but the real feel temperature was 94 degrees😅

Although it was extremely hot, I was feeling amazing and had one of the best runs I’ve had in a while.

Sometimes you just wake up feeling SO good and nothing can stop you from shining!☀️

Happy Wednesday Everyone!✨

... Read moreWow, what an incredible run today! I know the original post mentioned it was scorching hot, with the real feel hitting 94 degrees, but honestly, it was one of those days where everything just *clicked*. There's something so empowering about pushing through tough conditions and still feeling amazing at the end. For anyone out there wondering how to tackle a 4-mile run, especially when the weather isn't ideal, let me share a bit more about my personal experience and what helps me keep going. My journey started with that usual mix of excitement and a little bit of 'can I really do this?' The first mile always feels like a warm-up, getting into the rhythm. It was definitely 'hot but feeling great' early on, thanks to getting out there before the sun was at its absolute peak. If you're planning a hot weather run, starting early in the morning or later in the evening can make a world of difference. Hydration is absolutely key – I always make sure to drink plenty of water before, during (if I carry a bottle), and after. Electrolyte drinks can also be a lifesaver on really humid days. And listening to your body is super important – if you feel lightheaded, dizzy, or overly fatigued, it's okay to slow down, take a walk break, or even cut your run short. Your health is always the priority! Around the two-mile mark, that's when I usually hit my stride, and my mind starts to wander in a good way. Today, it was mandatory to stop and look at the city skyline here – the view was just breathtaking and gave me a perfect little mental break. Those little moments of appreciation for your surroundings can be such a mental boost! It reminds you why you love running – it's not just about the miles, but the experience, the fresh air, and seeing things you might miss otherwise. I even had a funny little encounter where I found some geese chilling by the path. Little detours and observations like that make the run so much more enjoyable and less like a chore. It keeps things interesting and prevents the run from feeling monotonous. The last couple of miles can sometimes be the toughest, but knowing I had a beautiful view and a quick cool down waiting kept me pushing. My Saucony Endorphin Speed 4s felt fantastic, providing that springy response even on tired legs, which is crucial for maintaining pace. And honestly, comfortable, moisture-wicking gear like my Lululemon set makes a HUGE difference in hot weather – it prevents chafing and helps keep you feeling a bit cooler by drawing sweat away from your skin. Don't underestimate the power of good running socks and sunglasses either; my Alo Speed Sunglasses were perfect for protecting my eyes from the glare. Finishing those 4 miles felt absolutely incredible. That 'all doneee' feeling is the best reward! It’s a huge accomplishment, and it truly sets the tone for a positive day. After the run, I always make sure to do a proper cool down with some light stretching to aid recovery. If you’re a runner or just starting out and looking for that extra push, remember that every mile counts, and celebrating small victories like a hot weather run can build amazing confidence. Keep shining, everyone, and happy running!
