Perfect Day in Rockaway Beach

If you’re craving a beach day that feels like a mini vacation—but still want to swipe your MetroCard—Rockaway Beach is it. Here’s how I spent a full day soaking up the sun, waves, and really good food 🌊

Started off at The Rockaway Hotel with a latte from their coffee shop—it’s cozy, bright, and the perfect place to map out your day. Bonus: their rooftop has an ocean view and feels like a total escape.

Then it’s straight to the beach. You can actually surf in Rockaway, or just post up with a towel and watch the locals do their thing. The energy is super relaxed and low-key.

Midday calls for snacks and sand breaks:

🍔 RIPPERS for a classic burger and fries by the boardwalk

🍋 La Cevicheria for fresh, citrusy Peruvian ceviche you’ll definitely crave again
