A Prayer When Feeling Peace ~ Isaiah 26:3 (KJV):

Some moments just feel still in the best way. Nothing needs fixing. Nothing feels urgent. You’re not striving, stressing, or solving—just being.

That feeling of peace is rare. And when it comes, we want to hold onto it.

Maybe it shows up during a quiet cup of coffee, a peaceful walk, or a moment of prayer. Or maybe, it’s something unexplainable—an inner calm in the midst of a noisy world. Whatever brings it, Scripture calls this kind of peace a gift from God. It’s not just an emotion, it’s a fruit of his Spirit, planted deep in us.

But peace doesn’t always stay long. Life moves fast, and worries return. So, when you do feel peace, take a second to thank the One who makes it possible. And ask him to root it in you, so that when storms come (and they will), you’ll remember what it felt like to be still and held.

Here’s a scripture and a prayer for that kind of peace.

SCRIPTURE ~ Isaiah 26:3 (KJV):

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

... Read moreExperiencing moments of perfect peace, as described in Isaiah 26:3, often feels like a precious respite in our hectic lives. I've personally found that cultivating this peace requires intentional practice, especially in today’s fast-moving world. For me, it begins with pausing to be fully present—whether during a quiet morning coffee, a mindful walk in nature, or simply a few minutes of deep breathing and prayer. One powerful approach is to center your thoughts on trust and faith, as the scripture suggests. When your mind is fixed on the divine, you create space for that "fruit of the Spirit" to grow inside you. This peace isn’t just a fleeting emotion; it becomes a stabilizing force that can carry you through anxiety and uncertainty. In my experience, keeping a journal helps root this peace deeply. Writing down what you’re grateful for or reflecting on prayers can anchor those peaceful moments, making them more accessible when life’s challenges arise. It’s also helpful to remind yourself that feeling stressed or worried doesn’t negate your ability to return to this stillness. I also embrace the comparison in the prayer to Mary sitting quietly at Jesus' feet. This image invites me to lean into the moment and trust that peace is available, even when external circumstances are turbulent. Whenever a storm comes, recalling these peaceful experiences and the scripture’s promise can create a refuge within. Ultimately, the key is to nurture this perfection of peace daily—not expecting it to erase problems, but to provide an unshakable calm that sustains you. By regularly reconnecting with faith and stillness, that inner calm not only comforts but empowers you to face life’s challenges with resilience and hope.
