Eating in a calorie Deficit

Day 33/75 of my #75hardchallenge
I’ve been really enjoying the new meals I’ve incorporated! You truly can eat anything in a calorie Deficit! I’m almost half way to my 75 days 🥲
Hey everyone! Following up on my 1635-calorie day, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into how I make eating in a calorie deficit enjoyable and sustainable. It’s all about smart swaps and loading up on satisfying, delicious low-calorie food options! One of my biggest takeaways from the #75hardchallenge is that you really don't have to sacrifice flavor. For breakfast, instead of heavy options, I often go for Greek yogurt with fresh strawberries and a sprinkle of chia seeds. If I'm craving something savory, scrambled eggs with a ton of veggies (like spinach and mushrooms) are a go-to. And yes, you can absolutely have a bagel! Just choose thinner versions or opt for whole-wheat, and watch your cream cheese portions. Lunch is another area where you can pack a lot of nutrition without a ton of calories. My salmon rice bowl is a perfect example – loading it with veggies like mini cucumbers and a smaller portion of avocado makes it super filling. If you're not a fish person, grilled chicken or tofu salads with a light vinaigrette are fantastic. Think big salads with lots of colorful veggies and lean protein. I also love making a big batch of veggie soup at the start of the week for quick, low-calorie lunches. Snacks are crucial for keeping hunger at bay. Instead of sugary treats, I reach for things like fruit (hello, juicy watermelon!), a Chobani flip yogurt, or a handful of almonds with a banana. Sometimes, when that savory craving hits, I’ll grab some celery sticks with a small dollop of hummus or even a few baked tortilla chips with salsa. It’s about moderation and choosing options that provide fiber and protein to keep you satisfied. For dinner, it’s all about lean protein and lots of vegetables. My chicken wing dip was a fun, lower-calorie twist on a classic, showing how you can adapt your favorites. Other nights, I might have baked salmon with roasted broccoli and sweet potato, or a stir-fry with plenty of chicken breast and a rainbow of veggies, using low-sodium soy sauce. Portion control is key here, especially for sauces and dressings. The main thing I've learned is to plan ahead. Knowing what I'm going to eat helps me stay on track and avoids impulsive, high-calorie choices. Drinking plenty of water also plays a huge role in feeling full. Remember, this is a journey, and finding low-calorie food that you genuinely enjoy is what makes it sustainable in the long run. Good luck on your own calorie deficit adventure – you got this!
