เรื่อง "ฆาตกรรมล้างแค้นบนเกาะอาดาชิมะ" เป็นนิยายที่นำเสนอความซับซ้อนของความแค้นและปริศนาได้อย่างลึกซึ้งมากกว่าที่ผมคาดไว้ เมื่ออ่านจบ ผมรู้สึกถึงความแตกต่างในการดำเนินเรื่องที่แบ่งเป็นสองช่วง คือช่วงแรกซึ่งเต็มไปด้วยความตึงเครียดและการลุ้นระทึก กับช่วงที่สองซึ่งช้าลงและเน้นการคลี่คลายปมปัญหาอย่างละเอียด สิ่งที่ทำให้ผมประทับใจคือการที่ผู้เขียน อากาเนะ อารากิ ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากผลงานคลาสสิกของอกาธา คริสตี้ ซึ่งเป็นจุดขายสำคัญของนิยายชุดนี้ โดยเฉพาะรายละเอียดการลงมือฆาตกรรมและกลวิธีที่ทำให้ผู้อ่านต้องตั้งใจอ่านและวิเคราะห์อย่างละเอียด นอกจากนี้ ฉากบนเกาะอาดาชิมะยังสร้างบรรยากาศโดดเด่นด้วยความเงียบสงัด ไม่มีไฟฟ้าและสัญญาณอินเทอร์เน็ต จึงเพิ่มความรู้สึกอึดอัดและเหงา เหมือนถูกตัดขาดจากโลกภายนอก สิ่งนี้ทำให้สถานการณ์ยิ่งมีน้ำหนักและความตึงเครียดขึ้นไปอีก จากประสบการณ์อ่านของผม แม้ส่วนใหญ่ช่วงที่สองจะช้าลงและทำให้บางจุดรู้สึกน่าเบื่อ แต่พล็อตและจุดหักมุมในตอนจบกลับเป็นสิ่งที่ทำให้ผมกลับมาอ่านต่อจนจบ เพราะบรรยากาศและเนื้อหาพาให้คิดตาม และรู้สึกผูกพันกับตัวละครอย่างน่าประหลาด สำหรับผู้ที่ชื่นชอบนิยายแนวสืบสวนสอบสวนและฆาตกรรมเชิงจิตวิทยา เล่มนี้นับว่าเป็นงานที่น่าสนใจและอ่านเพลิน ถึงแม้อาจต้องใจเย็นและตั้งใจอ่านในบางตอน แต่ภาพรวมคือความสนุกและท้าทายที่คุ้มค่าแก่การติดตาม
