I keep fantasizing about being with someone fit
We’ve been together 3 years. When we met, he was a bit overweight but active and fun to talk to—we connected over art, music, and movies. But over time, he closed himself off. We stopped going out, he gained 30kg, and I lost all physical attraction.
I’ve been working out daily for 2 years while he refused to change—until I cried and said I was unhappy. Now he’s losing weight but only if I do everything with him. I’m exhausted from cooking, going to the gym with him, and trying to motivate him.
I still care about him, but I keep fantasizing about being with someone fit and healthy. Am I terrible for feeling this way?

Honestly and I’m going to be blunt, but please break up with him. If you’re fantasizing about a version of someone that is not him, it is better to just end things. I know that might be hard and it is going to hurt his feelings, but it is better in the long run. This is my opinion, so please take it as you wish, but from the sounds of it you lost feelings for him. You cannot keep leading him on. In the end he can choose if he wants to work on himself, but you cannot force him to do that.
