Life post RD exam

I don’t think I talked enough about what this season actually felt like.

The RD exam wasn’t just an exam. It was pressure. It was sacrificing weekends, studying when I didn’t feel like it, feeling like my whole future was sitting on one test. It was wondering if I was smart enough, prepared enough, ready enough. It was walking into that testing center with a pit in my stomach and a prayer in my heart.

And now that it’s over, what I feel the most isn’t pride. It’s relief. Relief, gratitude, and a lot of perspective.

I learned that you can do hard things even when you’re tired, even when you’re scared, even when you’re not 100% sure how it’s going to turn out. You just keep going anyway.

I truly believe God puts dreams in your heart for a reason. And I also believe things happen when they’re supposed to— not when you want them to, not when your timeline says they should, but when you’re ready for them.

This season humbled me, stretched me, and changed me. And I’m really grateful for it.

If you’re in a hard season right now, just keep going. One day you’ll look back and realize it was all part of the story.

... Read morePassing the RD exam marks not just a milestone but a transformative phase in life. After the exam, many of us find a unique space to reconnect with the world and rediscover joys beyond study routines. For instance, indulging in activities like coaching a volleyball tournament, visiting serene sunflower fields, or exploring local art shows can offer refreshing breaks from academic intensity. I found that such experiences after my exam helped shift my mindset from exhaustion to exhilaration. Riding horseback for the first time in years or witnessing breathtaking natural sights, like massive waterfalls or caves used in iconic films, can provide a sense of wonder and rejuvenation. Whale watching, in particular, can be a profound event—changing your mental landscape and creating a deep appreciation for nature’s grandeur. Additionally, trying new foods or spending leisurely days at the beach fosters a gentle reminder that life after intense studying can be rich, diverse, and fulfilling. These moments not only celebrate personal achievement but also help solidify the motivation to pursue future aspirations in dietetics. If you’re currently navigating the pressure of exams or a challenging season, remember that life’s rhythm includes both hard work and joyful renewal. Embrace the journey, trust the timing of your dreams, and never underestimate the power of self-compassion and exploration beyond the books.
