Faith in a Man vs. Faith in God”

It's a journey, isn't it? Learning where to truly place your deepest trust. For a long time, I wrestled with expectations – societal, personal, even my own yearning for security. We often look to those closest to us, especially our partners, to be our rock, our everything. But I've come to understand that while a man can be a wonderful partner, a supporter, and a leader, he can never truly be 'the Source.' This isn't to diminish anyone, but to acknowledge a fundamental truth: FAITH IN MAN VS FAITH IN GOD are two distinctly different things. I remember moments where I found myself giving so much of my spiritual energy and reliance to human relationships, only to feel let down, exhausted, or even lost when things inevitably shifted. It’s a natural human tendency, perhaps, to seek stability in what we can see and touch. But through experience, I learned that a mere man cannot do what Jesus can. This isn't about denigrating men; it's about recognizing the limitations of human nature, including our own. We're all flawed, still growing, still figuring things out. How can I place my entire spiritual submission, my unwavering faith, in someone who is just as human and susceptible to error as I am? Placing my faith in God, however, has been a profoundly different experience. It’s not about finding a perfect human; it’s about connecting with an unchanging, all-knowing, and all-loving divine entity. It means surrendering my anxieties, my future, and my deepest desires to a power that is truly limitless. This doesn't mean I stop supporting the men in my life, respecting their leadership, or loving them deeply. It simply means my ultimate loyalty and spiritual devotion are reserved for God alone. It's like having a secure anchor in a stormy sea – the ship might still rock, but it won't drift away. For me, putting faith in God means daily surrender. It means starting my day with prayer, seeking guidance in His word, and trusting that even when I don't understand the path, He does. It means accepting that I don't have to carry every burden alone, that there's a higher power willing to shoulder what is too heavy for me. This realization brought an incredible sense of peace and liberation. It frees me from the pressure of expecting perfection from others, and from the burden of trying to be perfect myself to earn someone's unwavering devotion. When we blur the line between loyalty to a partner and spiritual submission, we often set ourselves and our partners up for failure. No man, no matter how wonderful, can fulfill the role that God is meant to play in our lives. My personal journey has taught me the immense strength and comfort that comes from knowing my faith is rooted in the divine. It allows me to love and support the people around me more authentically, without the unrealistic expectation that they be my everything. Ultimately, my faith is my personal relationship with the divine, and that's a space no man can, or should, occupy.
