A day filled with history and nature.
I went to [Kochi Castle] with an existing castle tower from the Edo period!
Inside the castle, which retains the atmosphere of the time, there are many impressive exhibits such as samurai dolls and armor displays, and a cross section of a large tree that feels history with annual rings.
What was particularly impressive was,

高知城の魅力の一つに、訪れる人を驚かせる急な木造階段があります。実際に私も登ってみて、その高さと傾斜に最初は少し緊張しましたが、そこに込められた攻めにくく守りやすい造りの工夫を知ることで一層感動しました。 また、城内の展示室には大河ドラマ「功名が辻」で使用された衣装が飾られており、歴史だけでなくエンターテインメントとしても楽しめる工夫がされています。歴史好きでない私の家族も興味深く見入っていました。 訪問時は令和7年8月の夏でしたが、木造の建物の優しい雰囲気と大きな木の年輪を感じられる展示が自然の涼しさを演出し、暑さを忘れる時 間に。高知市街地を一望できる天守からの眺めは、歴史と現代が共存するコントラストも美しく心に残りました。 最後に、訪問時の写真からは「頭上注意」や「右側通行」などの案内が見え、城内での安全やマナーもきちんと配慮されている印象を受けました。初めての方でも安心して楽しめる場所です。ぜひ、高知城の急な階段を体験し、歴史の息吹を感じる旅を体験してみてください。
