Domestic violence awareness month !0

... Read moreDomestic Violence Awareness Month is a crucial time to educate ourselves and others about the different forms of abuse that often go unnoticed. One less discussed but impactful aspect of abuse is the way some abusers manipulate basic needs like food to exert control over their victims. The message "Your abuser is using you for food. I can prove it. When they are nice that's just meal prep!" highlights this subtle form of emotional and psychological abuse. This type of abuse may manifest as withholding food, controlling what or when a victim eats, or using kindness around meals strategically to manipulate and maintain power. These behaviors can deeply affect the victim's physical and mental health, causing confusion, dependence, and fear. Raising awareness about this issue helps victims recognize these signs and understand that abuse isn't always overtly violent; psychological manipulation can be just as damaging. Support systems such as counseling, hotlines, and community groups are invaluable resources during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and beyond. Recognizing abuse early empowers victims to seek help, reclaim control over their lives, and begin healing. It is important for society to foster open dialogues, reduce stigma, and provide accessible resources to ensure that no one feels isolated or trapped in an abusive environment. By sharing and discussing these subtle abuse tactics, we contribute to a greater understanding and prevention of domestic violence in all its forms, ensuring safety and support for those affected.

Every year, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men experience domestic violence in their lifetime. On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. That means more than 10 million women and men every year suffer in silence, fear, and pain. I know th

Surviving Domestic Violence🖤
I know there are many women out here who are suffering in silence like I was in 2021. I was with a man for 3.5 years, never really paid the signs any attention, until the last 4 months of our relationship, when the physical abuse began. Prior to April 2021 (first time he hit me), there was a

Not all scars are visible and some are carried deep within. Abuse doesn’t always leave bruises you can see, and it doesn’t have a certain “look” or gender. Today, we pause to pray for those carrying both seen and unseen scars…for the ones who sit in silence, smile through pain, or question their

A distressed man with hands on his face, illustrating domestic violence. A Lemon8 post asks how many men experienced this, with a poll showing 79% have. A comment highlights society's failure to recognize verbal/emotional abuse from women as domestic violence.
Text details men's experiences of domestic violence, including physical assault, threats, police inaction, a friend's suicide due to abuse, and severe verbal/emotional abuse from ex-partners.
Text describes men's experiences with childhood physical abuse, emotional manipulation, a brother's child kidnapping, and the societal belief that men must deserve abuse, highlighting a lack of intervention.

When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful. The ones who have a voice must speak for those who are voiceless. Tell your story of the mountain you climbed. Your words could become a page in someone else’s survival guide.🩷🌸🫧🎀 #youmatterbeautiful #embracevulnerability #u
