Im just gonna post a lot of my tiktoks
Okay, so 8th grade. Wow. Who knew it would be such a whirlwind? One minute I’m just trying to understand algebra, and the next I’m overthinking every single thing I’ve ever said to my crush. Honestly, it feels like my brain is on a constant loop of 'what ifs' and 'did I say that right?' Let's talk about the anxiety first. It's not just about tests, though those definitely don't help. It's more about everything else: fitting in, making sure I don't look awkward in the hallways, wondering if my friends are mad at me, or just feeling overwhelmed by all the changes happening around me. Sometimes, it’s hard to even explain to my parents because they just say, “Oh, you’re just a teenager.” But it feels so much bigger than that. I often find myself scrolling through TikTok late at night, seeing other kids my age share their own struggles, and honestly, it makes me feel a little less alone. It’s like a secret support group where everyone gets it. Then there’s the whole crush situation. Ugh. There's this one person, and every time they even glance my way, my stomach does a triple flip. I spend hours dissecting every text, every emoji, every casual conversation. Do they like me back? Are they just being friendly? Should I say something? What if I embarrass myself? My friends are usually good for a pep talk, but sometimes I just want to disappear into a book or a video game rather than face the possibility of rejection. It's thrilling and terrifying all at once. And Mom. Bless her heart. She tries, I know she does. But sometimes it feels like we’re speaking completely different languages. She wants to know everything, but then when I try to talk about my anxiety or my crush, she either tells me not to worry or gives advice that just doesn't feel relevant to what I'm going through. Other times, she's my biggest supporter, offering a hug or letting me vent. It's a confusing dynamic, figuring out how much to share and how much to keep to myself. We have our moments, for sure, but I know she just wants the best for me. This whole 8th-grade journey is a lot, but I’m learning to navigate it one awkward, anxious, crush-filled day at a time, and sharing it helps.
