My go to oil for all the hair types in my house! 🫶
So in a house full of girls and different hair types I have soo many products but this works for all of us. I just use more or less depending on the head I’m working on. I like this as it isn’t really scented so if I want to add scented products it doesn’t clash. It gives soo much moisture and shine. Now be aware too much will leave you greasy and gross feeling. But add it even as a touch of shine after finishing your style to give it gloss. #haircareroutine#lemon8challenge#oilsforhair#Hair#fyp

Read moreOkay, so you've heard me rave about this miracle oil, but let's dive a little deeper into why avocado oil has become my absolute holy grail for achieving truly healthy, shiny hair, no matter the hair type! When I first stumbled upon it, drawn by the promise of natural shine and deep moisturizing properties (just like the bottle with its cute avocado graphic suggested!), I had no idea it would revolutionize our family's hair care routine.
First off, what makes avocado oil so fantastic? It's not just a surface-level fix. This oil is packed with monounsaturated fatty acids, vitamins A, D, and E, and even biotin. These nutrients aren't just good for your diet; they penetrate the hair shaft, nourishing your strands from the inside out. This deep nourishment is what truly leads to that enviable healthy, glossy look, rather than just a temporary coating. It helps strengthen hair, reducing breakage and promoting elasticity – which is key for preventing those annoying split ends.
So, how do I actually incorporate this gem into our routines to maximize its benefits for shine and moisture?
Pre-Shampoo Treatment & Deep Conditioning: This is hands down my favorite way to use it, especially for a serious moisture boost. Before washing, I’ll warm a couple of tablespoons of avocado oil (depending on hair length and thickness) and massage it into dry hair, focusing on the mid-lengths and ends. Sometimes I’ll even warm it slightly for better penetration. I leave it on for at least 30 minutes, or even overnight, wrapped in a warm towel. When I rinse it out, my hair feels incredibly soft, manageable, and has an undeniable natural shine. It also helps detangle hair before shampooing, reducing stress on wet strands.
Lightweight Leave-In & Frizz Fighter: For those moments when my hair feels a bit dry or frizzy after a wash, a tiny drop (and I mean tiny – remember, less is more!) worked through damp ends works wonders. It seals in moisture without weighing hair down, leaving it feeling silky smooth and looking super healthy. It's truly versatile across different hair types for this use – for finer hair, focus just on the very ends; for thicker or curlier hair, you can distribute a bit more.
Instant Gloss Finishing Touch: Just like I mentioned before, a mere whisper of avocado oil on dry, styled hair can elevate your look instantly. I put a single drop on my palms, rub them together, and lightly smooth it over the surface of my hair. This adds a beautiful, high-impact gloss and tames any flyaways, giving that polished, salon-finished look. It’s amazing for highlighting natural shine.
Scalp Nourishment: Don't forget your scalp! If you're struggling with dryness or want to promote healthier hair growth, massaging a small amount of avocado oil into your scalp before bed or a few hours before washing can make a huge difference. Its anti-inflammatory properties can soothe irritation, and the vitamins feed your follicles.
One crucial tip I've learned from my own trial and error: always start with a very small amount and add more if needed. Overdoing it is the quickest way to end up with greasy-looking hair, especially if you have finer strands. For coarser or very dry hair, you might find you can use a bit more for that deep moisturizing effect.
What I love most is its unscented nature. This means it never clashes with my favorite scented hair products or perfumes, allowing their fragrances to shine through. It's truly a silent hero in my routine, quietly working its magic to deliver consistent moisture and gloss. If you're looking to achieve truly healthy, shiny hair with a versatile, natural product, avocado oil is definitely worth adding to your beauty arsenal!
