I always start with clean hands and nails. Grab this and wash those hands and if possible draw a bowl with warm water and soak the nails to loosen any dirt and grime that may be under them.

From my personal experience, beginning any nail care routine with clean hands and nails truly makes a significant difference. I always recommend using a gentle antibacterial hand soap—like the Softsoap Crisp Clean Antibacterial with moisturizers—because it effectively removes germs without drying out your skin. After washing, soaking the nails in warm water for a few minutes really helps loosen any trapped dirt and softens the cuticles, making them easier to manage. This small step not only improves the appearance of your nails but also prevents infections, especially before applying any polish or treatments. To elevate your nail care routine, try incorporating natural oils like jojoba or almond oil after soaking to nourish and hydrate the nail bed and surrounding skin. Consistency is key: by regularly cleaning and caring for your nails in this way, you create a healthy foundation that supports stronger, shinier nails. Keep in mind that even if you use regular hand soap, soaking remains essential for deeply cleansing under the nails and around the cuticles. This method has always worked well for me, leaving my nails feeling fresh and ready for the next steps in nail care.

I can’t do that with my nails because mine are not press on nails. Mine are acrylic’s.

If you have a little water in the pump that holds the liquid soap comes out easier. It’s a lot more economical, making it last a lot longer.
