Parents help me out! 🥴🥴

Calling all parents, aunties, uncles or ANYONE. What yall doing with the kids this summer? ☀️⛅️

Summer has just begun and I’m being put threw it. I’ve gotten my own personal hair dressers (ouch 😩😭) which resulted in this and some other photos I won’t post lol. We have a trampoline, gonna order a sprinkler, and of course the basic chalk and bubbles. What else we doing? Help a momma save her sanity PLEEEAAAASSSEEEE!! Also any tips for mosquitoes that doesn’t smell awful welcome.

... Read moreAs a parent navigating the summer months, I completely understand the challenge of keeping kids engaged while maintaining a bit of sanity. Beyond trampolines, sprinklers, chalk, and bubbles, here are some additional activities I've found effective: 1. Nature scavenger hunts: Create a list of common outdoor items like pine cones, colorful leaves, or certain flowers. This encourages kids to explore nature while keeping them busy. 2. DIY crafts with household items: Simple projects like making paper plate masks, friendship bracelets, or painted rocks can capture their creativity indoors or outside. 3. Water balloon games: These are easy to set up and bring tons of laughs. Plus, they help cool the kids down on hot days. 4. Storytime in a cozy nook: Reading favorite books or telling imaginative stories can be a calming end to an active day. Regarding mosquitoes, a non-irritating, natural approach is key. I've switched to using essential oils like citronella, lavender, or eucalyptus mixed with a carrier oil sprayed lightly around play areas. These scents are less offensive than chemical sprays and still effective at repelling bugs. Also, dressing kids in lightweight, long-sleeved clothing during peak mosquito hours helps. Balancing fun and comfort is tricky, but mixing tried-and-true outdoor games with creative indoor projects, along with gentle mosquito control, has helped keep my kids happy and me sane this summer. Hopefully, these ideas inspire you too!
