As someone who often turns to poetry for reflection and healing, I found 'Soil' deeply resonant. The metaphor of soil as the unseen support system beneath our feet speaks to the strength and resilience we build through our experiences. Like soil nourishing roots, our inner foundation holds stories of endurance and growth that allow us to face challenges and emerge stronger. In my personal journey, I’ve realized how important it is to recognize and nurture this invisible strength. Just as fertile soil replenishes life, taking time to reflect and cultivate our emotional foundation can help us grow through adversity. This poem reminds me that even when hardships feel overwhelming, there is a quiet power beneath the surface guiding us forward. Inspired by Matthew Flournoy’s words and Dee Carr’s expressive writing, 'Soil' honors this essential part of ourselves that may go unnoticed but is vital for our personal growth and resilience. It's the encouragement I needed to appreciate my own foundation and keep nurturing it through life’s seasons.
