I love dancing 💃

So many people ask me, 'Why do you love dance so much?' And honestly, it's hard to put into just a few words, especially when it comes to my journey with pole dancing, even after hitting my fabulous sixties! It’s not just a hobby; it’s become an integral part of my life, bringing a joy and vitality I never expected. For me, dancing, particularly pole, is incredibly enjoyable because it’s a full-body and mind experience. Physically, it transformed me. When I started, I wasn't as strong or flexible as I am now. Each spin, climb, and inversion builds core strength, improves my balance, and keeps my muscles toned. It’s a challenging workout that never feels like a chore because I'm so focused on the movement and the music. The sheer satisfaction of achieving a new trick, even a small one, is an immense confidence booster. It reminds me that age is truly just a number and that my body is capable of amazing things. Beyond the physical, the mental and emotional benefits are profound. Pole dancing is a fantastic stress reliever. When I’m on the pole, all my worries fade away. It demands complete presence and focus, which is incredibly meditative. It’s a wonderful form of self-expression, allowing me to connect with my body in a creative, artistic way. There’s a powerful sense of empowerment that comes from mastering a move, from feeling strong and graceful simultaneously. It’s like discovering a new language for my body, and that feeling of accomplishment is addictive. The community aspect is another huge reason why I love dance. My pole studio is filled with supportive, encouraging people of all ages and backgrounds. We cheer each other on, celebrate successes, and offer a hand when someone needs help. It's more than just a class; it's a family. This sense of belonging, especially as we get older, is invaluable. It combats loneliness and provides a vibrant social outlet. Dancing keeps my mind sharp, too. Remembering sequences, adapting to different music, and constantly learning new techniques are excellent for cognitive function. It’s a continuous learning curve, and I absolutely adore the challenge. It keeps me feeling young, not just in spirit, but in my ability to adapt and grow.
