not celebrating Easter ✨
I recently decided not to celebrate Easter anymore, and I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences around this choice. For me, Easter used to be a time filled with traditions and celebrations, but over time I started to question the meaning and the way it was observed. It felt more like a societal expectation than a true reflection of my beliefs and values. Many people celebrate Easter for its religious significance, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but others focus on more secular customs like egg hunts and family gatherings. I found that neither aspect truly resonated with me anymore. Sometimes, cultural holidays can bring stress or feelings of exclusion, especially if the traditions don’t align with your personal journey. Choosing not to celebrate Easter gave me space to reflect on what holidays mean to me. It made me appreciate smaller, more personal celebrations throughout the year that bring genuine joy and connection. I also started to find comfort in creating my own rituals that feel authentic and meaningful without pressure. For those considering a similar choice, it’s important to remember that stepping back from certain holidays doesn’t mean rejecting community or tradition—it can be about honoring your own path. Sharing openly about why you make these decisions can foster understanding and support, encouraging others to explore what truly matters to them during festive times. Ultimately, not celebrating Easter anymore has been a liberating experience for me. It’s allowed me to redefine what celebration looks like and focus on what feels right in my heart.
