New Game Alert! 🚨
New to me probably not to many lol
“Yes, Your Grace” set in an old folklore kings and queen time where you have to use strategy to keep the kingdom afloat
⭐️Overall rating: 8/10: I’m currently stuck! Other than that it’s actually pretty interesting, you play a king who has to make decisions to help or not his people, family and allies.
Purchased from: Nintendo store (digital download)
It’s true, I mentioned being a bit stuck in 'Yes, Your Grace,' but honestly, that’s part of its charm! This game isn't just a simple click-and-play adventure; it's a deep dive into the moral complexities of ruling a kingdom. Every week, you're faced with petitioners, each with their own plea or problem, and your choices directly impact your kingdom's resources, loyalty, and even your family’s well-being. Do you spend precious gold to help a struggling village, knowing your army needs supplies? Or do you alienate an ally by refusing their request, preserving resources for a potential war? The weight of these decisions is what makes 'Yes, Your Grace' so compelling and, yes, sometimes frustratingly difficult. What truly sets it apart for me is how well it blends storytelling with resource management. You're not just watching numbers; you're experiencing the consequences of your choices through beautifully written dialogue and character interactions. The 'old folklore' setting really comes alive, making you feel like you're truly governing a medieval realm, complete with its superstitions, political intrigue, and unexpected challenges. Dealing with monsters, managing your dwindling treasury, and navigating family drama – it’s all part of a day’s work for King Eryk. My 8/10 rating largely comes from this immersive experience and the sheer replayability as you try to make different choices to see how the story unfolds. Speaking of unfolding stories, many of you might be wondering about 'Yes, Your Grace 2' or even 'Yes, Your Grace 3,' as I've seen those queries pop up! While I haven't heard official news about a third installment, 'Yes, Your Grace: Snowfall' (often referred to as 'Yes, Your Grace 2') is indeed on the horizon. I’m incredibly excited to see how they expand on the decision-making mechanics and kingdom management in a new, perhaps harsher, setting. The idea of facing new challenges with a fresh set of dilemmas in the same captivating universe is really appealing. For those who enjoy the strategic depth and narrative choices of 'Yes, Your Grace' and are looking for similar games to tide you over, I have a few recommendations for fellow strategy and resource management fans. If you love the tough moral choices, 'Papers, Please' offers a similar sense of weighty decisions, though in a very different setting. For more kingdom management with a focus on building and survival, 'Frostpunk' is a brilliant, albeit bleak, option that really tests your leadership skills under extreme conditions. And if you're into the narrative-driven adventure with consequences, 'The Banner Saga' trilogy is absolutely phenomenal, blending tactical combat with impactful story choices. All of these games, like 'Yes, Your Grace,' challenge you to think critically and live with the outcomes, which is something I deeply appreciate in a game. It's truly a gem for any #NintendoSwitch owner looking for a game that offers more than just casual fun.
