Markets in NYC: Union Sq Urban Space Night Market

This summer there is a market in Union Square with over 35 local food vendors and different varieties of food! I like that it’s open late so you can go after watching a movie or spending a day walking around the city. There’s lots of night markets open in NYC especially in the summer time and this is just one of them - I find that there are very few in lower Manhattan so I just wanted to share this one. They have crepes, rice bowls served in grilled pineapple halves, and Lebanese wraps and bowls, but the vendors are rotating and may change! The dates for this market are as follows:

Thursdays and Fridays May 29 - June 27, 12-10 PM

Thursdays from July 24 - August 7, 12-10 PM

Thursdays and Fridays from September 4-Oct 17, 12-10 PM

Read moreThe Union Square Urban Space Night Market is one of the most vibrant night markets in New York City, attracting both locals and tourists looking for authentic and diverse food experiences. Operated by UrbanSpace, this market hosts over 35 rotating vendors, offering a wide range of culinary delights that highlight the multicultural food scene of NYC. Visitors can expect to find innovative dishes such as rice bowls served in unique grilled pineapple halves, fresh crepes, and flavorful Lebanese wraps and bowls, offering something to satisfy all palates. Located in a central and convenient spot in Union Square, the market’s timing from 12 PM to 10 PM on select Thursdays and Fridays allows for flexible visits – whether you want to stop by after a movie, a day of sightseeing, or simply to enjoy the evening vibes. The rotating vendor system ensures that repeat visitors always discover new foods and seasonal specialties, making every visit a fresh experience. Night markets like this have become a staple of NYC’s summer and fall cultural activities. They foster a sense of community while supporting local businesses and artisans. Beyond food, these markets often include live entertainment and artisan crafts, creating a lively atmosphere that reflects the city’s dynamic energy. The Union Square market is particularly notable for being one of the few night markets in lower Manhattan, making it a rare gem for residents and visitors in that area. If you plan to visit, check the market’s schedule carefully as vendor listings may change between May and October. Staying informed will help you catch your favorite vendors or try the newest offerings. Participating in such markets not only satisfies food lovers but also connects people to the rich cultural tapestry of New York City, making Union Square Urban Space Night Market a must-visit during the warmer months.
