Light to Night 2026: A little quieter this year

Light to Night’s 10th edition is on santai (in Malay) or ‘relax’ mode. This is where you can ‘lepak’ in this cool weather and empty your mind.

This year’s edition seems smaller and quieter than the previous editions. But if you are in the area, you can drop by and soak in the vibes.

The photo prints at the Vintage Photobooth infront of Victoria Concert Hall) starts from $5. The shopping bag lanterns are free. You can get it at the lawn infront of the @nationalgallerysingapore

... Read moreLight to Night 2026 offers a refreshing, quieter atmosphere compared to previous years, making it ideal for those who want to unwind and enjoy art in a calm setting. I personally appreciated how the event blends cultural landmarks like the Victoria Concert Hall and National Gallery Singapore with engaging installations from local and regional artists such as Syahmin Huda and Azariah Tan. One of my favorite highlights was the Vintage Photobooth, where for just $5 you can get nostalgic photo prints right in front of iconic venues. The free shopping bag lanterns available on the lawn near the National Gallery added a charming, interactive element to the festival atmosphere after sunset. The light shows begin at 8 pm daily and extend late into the night. Navigating between the festival grounds is easy, thanks to their proximity to City Hall MRT station. If you’re interested in visual arts combined with serene nights, this year’s Light to Night provides a thoughtfully scaled experience that encourages visitors to slow down and soak in the creativity and ambiance. Additional installations are located throughout the Civic District, with art ranging from large-scale projections to intimate pieces connecting Singapore’s heritage and contemporary expressions. The relaxed 'santai' spirit reflected in this edition invites everyone to explore the festival space at their own pace, making it a perfect cultural outing for families, friends, or solo visitors seeking inspiration and tranquility.
