🚨 Meta's AI Missed Yourself! Over 20,000 Instagram Accounts Hacked 😱

Big news for IG players! Most recently, Meta has confirmed that over 20,225 Instagram accounts have been hacked by bad people, and alarmingly, this vulnerability comes from Meta's own AI tool. 🤖

The incident took place during April 17 - May 31, 2026, with hackers taking a horribly simple approach:

🌍 Use a fake VPN to match the account owner.

💬 to Meta's "AI Support Assistant" (High Touch Support System or HTS).

📧 instructed the AI to "add new emails" to the target account.

🔓, when the AI sent the confirmation code to the hacker's e-mail, the hacker brought the code back in the chat...And then the AI immediately sent the "reset password" link!

🚩 What is the cause of this mistake?

Meta's AI system missed "no identity confirmation" of whether the person talking was the real account owner, and did not check whether the newly added email matched the original information on the system.

There are a lot of loud accounts on the tail! Whether it's old accounts of former President Obama's White House era, top commander of the U.S. Space Force, cosmetic brand Sephora, as well as famous security researcher Jane Manchun Wong.

🛡️ The only escape from this!

An account that opens a dual-layer authentication system (2FA) can survive 100% of this attack!

Most recently, Meta has shut down this AI system, forcing hacked accounts to set up new passwords and reviewing account recovery systems on all platforms. It is an expensive lesson that AI systems with access to private data should not be fooled.
