On June 30, 2026, a historic military deal emerged when Saab, a major Swedish defense industry company, officially signed a contract with the Swedish Defense Equipment Supply Agency (FMV) to procure 16 of the latest JAS 39 Gripen E 4.5 + generation general-purpose fighters in preparation for delivery to the Ukrainian Air Force.

🔹 First Step Begins 2027: Before the E-Generation is completed, Sweden plans to deliver 16 Gripen C / D (formerly deployed in the Swedish military) to use early in 2027 so that pilots and technicians can practice and restructure the basics. Now pilots are training in Sweden.
