iPad note-taking tips that worked best for me

1️⃣ choosing the paper types & orientation

I find that choosing the right kind paper matters a lot, I’d usually use the 5-line staff paper since I’m a music student, and I’d need to write in notes or chords for analysis. but the point is, go with grid or no grid depending on your needs. Also, if you know you’ll need to print your notes out, make sure it’s in the right paper size or correct orientation before you write your notes, since it’s a hassle to reformat and move writing around!

2️⃣ leave room for summary/extra info!

I find that doing this saved time because I usually find myself needing to go back and fill in missing info! or I’d like to add extra points during review to help with remembering information.

3️⃣ don’t go too crazy with colors

to the point your notes become a distraction more than something to help you recall information. I personally keep it within 2 colors, each for my pen and highlighters, and I try not to use too much highlighter if I don’t need to. This helped with finding info at a glance in case I need to go back to review a certain portion of my notes.
