Books I Read Last Year

Thrillers I’ve read & would recommend 📚

6/16 Edited to

... Read moreAs an avid thriller reader, 2025 was a year filled with captivating stories that kept me hooked until the last page. Among these, "Then She Was Gone" by Lisa Jewell stands out as a deeply emotional tale about a grieving mother whose chance at happiness is clouded by a haunting mystery. The tension and emotional depth make it a must-read for anyone who appreciates character-driven suspense. Another standout is "The Silent Patient" by Alex Michaelides, a psychological thriller that delves into the psyche of a woman who hasn’t spoken since she murdered her husband. The novel’s clever twists and the therapist’s obsession unravel a gripping narrative that kept me guessing. I also thoroughly enjoyed "Flicker in the Dark" by Stacy Willingham, a story about family secrets and the chilling pursuit of a copycat killer. The interplay between the characters and the layered mystery made it a compelling page-turner. For fans of intense domestic thrillers, Jeneva Rose’s works like "His Mistress" and "Till Death Do Us Part" offer thrilling plots filled with betrayal and unexpected revelations. The perfect blend of suspense and emotional drama had me constantly on edge. Freida McFadden’s books, "The Boyfriend" and "The Crash," are packed with unexpected twists that portray ordinary people confronting extraordinary dangers. "The Crash," in particular, delivers a heart-pounding experience of survival and secrets that felt incredibly real. Lastly, I must mention Colleen Hoover’s "Verity," my top read of the year. It combines psychological thriller elements with intense emotional drama, making it an unforgettable experience. Reading these books has not only entertained me but also deepened my appreciation for how thrillers can explore complex emotions and human behavior. If you love suspense, psychological depth, and unexpected twists, these recommendations are definitely worth checking out this year.
