... Read moreHey everyone! So many of you have asked me how I manage to get PR packages from amazing brands, even when I was just starting out with hardly any followers. It’s absolutely possible, and I’m so excited to spill all my secrets and give you a more in-depth guide on how to make it happen!
First off, let’s talk about why brands even bother with micro-influencers, especially those with what seems like 'zero followers.' Brands like rhode, Gisou, SHEIN, Glossier, and SEPHORA are smart. They know that authentic, engaged communities, no matter how small, can drive real results. Micro-influencers often have higher engagement rates and are seen as more trustworthy by their audience. It's not just about follower count; it's about genuine connection and passion for their products.
So, how do you approach these brands? Here’s my personal playbook:
Build a Niche & Quality Content: Even with 0 followers, your profile needs to look professional and showcase your passion. Are you into skincare, makeup, fashion, or lifestyle? Focus on creating high-quality photos and videos related to your niche. Show off your authentic personality! Brands are looking for creators who genuinely love their products and can create beautiful content.
Engage with the Brands: Before you even think about sending an email, interact with the brands you love. Comment on their posts, share their content (tagging them, of course!), and use their products if you already own them. This shows genuine interest and helps you get on their radar.
Craft a Compelling Outreach Email/Message: This is where many people get stuck. For brands like rhode, Gisou, and Glossier, the OCR results mentioned 'emailing them'. Don't just ask for free products. Instead, introduce yourself, briefly explain your niche and why you love their brand, and – most importantly – *what value you can offer them*.
Subject Line: Make it clear and concise, e.g., "Micro-Influencer Collaboration Inquiry - [Your Name/Niche]"
Body:
Start with a genuine compliment about their product/brand.
Explain your platform (even if small, emphasize engagement or niche focus).
Propose your content idea. What kind of post, reel, or story can you create that would showcase their product beautifully and authentically to your audience?
Include a link to your profile/portfolio.
End with a professional closing.
Leverage Brand PR Websites for Instant Approval: This was a game-changer for me! For brands like SHEIN and SEPHORA, the OCR mentioned 'instant PR approval' or 'signing up on their PR website.' I've personally found this to be one of the easiest ways to get started.
SHEIN: They often have a dedicated influencer or affiliate program section on their website. Do a quick search for "SHEIN influencer program" or "SHEIN PR." You might just find a simple registration form that offers instant approval.
SEPHORA: Similarly, look for their influencer programs. Sometimes, they have specific micro-influencer campaigns or platforms like "sephsampler.com" (as mentioned in the queries) where you can sign up to receive products for review. Keep an eye out for these special portals! Every now and then, other brands like LUCIN might also have similar programs.
Be Patient & Persistent: You might not hear back from every brand, and that's okay. Keep creating amazing content, keep engaging, and keep trying. Consistency is key in this game!
Once you receive your first PR package, remember to deliver high-quality content that genuinely reflects your experience with the product. Tag the brand, use relevant hashtags, and be transparent with your audience. This builds trust and increases your chances of future collaborations.
I'm always on the lookout for new brands working with micro-influencers, so make sure to follow along and comment 'TEAMWORK' if you want daily updates! Let's help each other grow and get those amazing PR hauls!
