This helps me eliminate or confirm letters quickly. After the first guess, I focus on letter positions and try to use words that test new letters while incorporating any greens or yellows I already have. It's a balance of elimination and confirmation. Sometimes I surprise myself and get it in 4/6, which feels amazing! Connections can be sneaky, right? My main tip is to not get fixated on your first idea. Often, the categories are more abstract than you'd think. I usually try to find two or three words that seem to obviously go together, then consider what their common thread could be. If I’m stuck, I’ll step away for a minute and come back with fresh eyes. It’s wild how often those 'purple just happened!' moments come when you least expect them! Strands is a newer favorite, and finding that Spangram, like 'you decide' today, is the ultimate goal. I find it helpful to scan the entire board for obvious themes first – things like colors, animals, or common phrases. If nothing jumps out, I start looking for smaller, two or three-letter words and see if they connect to anything. Sometimes, the Spangram reveals itself once you’ve found a few of the smaller words. It’s like a treasure hunt! And for Sudoku, oh man, the race against the clock! Solving it in '7:29' today felt pretty good. My trick for speed is to not just fill in numbers, but to quickly scan for single candidates in rows, columns, and 3x3 blocks. Then, I look for 'hidden singles' where a number can only go in one specific cell within a block, row, or column, even if other cells in that unit are empty. Don't be afraid to use pencil marks for possibilities, but try to limit them to just a few cells to keep your board clear. It's all about pattern recognition and quick elimination.
