Simple hygiene hacks

For insanely good skin 🫡

One of the standout tips I found most effective is 'cuticle slugging'—applying Vaseline or a healing jelly on damp hands and cuticles, then wearing cotton gloves overnight. This method left my hands feeling incredibly soft, almost buttery, and helped heal cracked skin that seemed stubborn before. Switching from traditional bar soaps to hydrating body washes was another game-changer. Many bar soaps can strip the skin's natural barrier, causing dryness and irritation. By using body washes containing gentle ingredients like niacinamide, collagen peptides, and vitamin C, my skin not only felt cleaner but also appeared visibly brighter and more hydrated. For those prone to conditions like eczema, rosacea, or psoriasis, incorporating products with hypochlorous acid in body washes has been beneficial. This ingredient acts like a 'bleach bath in a bottle,' helping soothe irritated skin and reduce unwanted odors without harshness. Additionally, I replaced physical exfoliants with chemical exfoliation using lactic acid and salicylic acid-based lotions, such as AmLactin®. Chemical exfoliants gently promote skin renewal without the abrasive effect of dry brushes, resulting in smoother and softer skin akin to a baby dolphin’s texture. Another simple hack for lip care is 'lip blasting,' which combines glycolic acid with petroleum jelly to fix crusty lips, especially during colder months. This combination exfoliates while deeply hydrating, preventing painful dryness. Integrating these small but effective hygiene habits improved not only my skin's health but also its overall appearance and comfort. The key is to choose dermatologist-recommended products and replace harsh routines with gentle, nourishing alternatives. Simple changes can lead to significant improvements, and your skin will thank you with a natural glow and resilience.
