📍 Best KBBQ in Seoul (no cap)

I found this spot on Naver Map with crazy high reviews, and wow… this is hands down my best KBBQ experience in Seoul.

And I’m not exaggerating — I’ve tried a lot of KBBQ places here, but this one hits different. ✨

We ordered their signature beef & pork set, and they were NOT here to play.😩

The meat was insanely soft, juicy, and tender, and the charcoal grill gave it this deep smoky flavour that was just 🤯🔥

💥 Must-order:

Their cheesy potato fried rice. 🧀

Koreans usually end their meal with carbs, and this was the perfect finale. Even though we were super full, it was so good we finished everything.

We also added:

🍲 Soybean soup – comforting and flavourful

🍜 Cold noodles – refreshing and a great balance after the meat

🫶 Service:

Very good! We communicated fully in English, let them recommend dishes, and everything went smoothly. Super friendly and attentive.

💰 Price:

I’d say average for KBBQ in Seoul, definitely worth it for the quality.

⏳ Waiting time:

Could be long — we went in December, it was freezing cold 🥶

But honestly? 100% worth the wait.

... Read moreIf you're planning a visit to Damongzip, especially the Sinnonhyeon main branch in Gangnam, here’s some useful advice from my experience. This KBBQ spot is famous not only for its top-quality charcoal grilled meats but also for its traditional salted meat preparation that has been perfected over decades. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, making it perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. One highlight that often gets overlooked is the variety of side dishes and traditional Korean soups you can pair with your BBQ. The soybean soup served at Damongzip is rich and comforting, a perfect balance to their smoky grilled meat. Also, the cold noodles are refreshingly light, helping cleanse your palate between bites. Booking ahead might be necessary during peak hours, especially in winter when waiting times can stretch due to high demand. But believe me, the wait is definitely worth it. The combination of tender pork belly and the signature anchang galbi, celebrated for its softness and flavor, truly sets this place apart. Finally, don’t hesitate to ask the staff for their recommendations. Their English-friendly service makes it easy to explore the menu and find dishes that suit your taste. Trying the cheesy potato fried rice as a savory finale is something I highly recommend — it’s a delightful twist on classic Korean comfort food that leaves a memorable impression. Overall, Damongzip offers an authentic taste of Seoul’s Korean BBQ scene with a long-standing tradition and innovative flavors.
